Endless Everythings

As long as what Beau and I did stayed in the shadows, it wasn’t real.

It didn’t become real until the light touched it.

I wish we’d never left the shadows because as complicated as it was to exist with him

there, at least I existed with him.

The light ruined everything, exposing us to the unforgiving hand of fate.

Now, I spend my days searching for answers in a world where nothing is as it seems.

It’s only when I accept the truth that I see a new path ahead.

This was always going to happen, and the time has arrived.

He says I’m not ready, and I believe him.

I make him lose control, and he keeps me from drowning.

He’s good for me, but they can’t all be happily ever afters.

The world needs cautionary tales, too, and our story is best served as such.
